Riptide was a television show from the 1970's starring Joe Penny ( as Nick Ryder), Perry King (as Cody Allen), and Thom Bray (as Murray J. Bozynski, aka Boz), and the helicopter the Screaming Mimi (as herself). These three gentlemen all lived on a boat (the Riptide) in King Harbor, California, and ran the Riptide Detective Agency from the Riptide. Cody Allen and Joe Ryder were the muscle men of action, while Murray Bozynski (Boz) was the computer genius who helped do the computer searches and intelligence gathering.
They give a little information about Cody's and Nick's family life, but very little about Murray's, so I have felt free to make up what I needed about his family. The only specifics that we know about Murray are that he went to MIT when he was 14 (yeah, that's right; he was a child genius in computers
Nick and Cody had been friends (as well as fellow MPs) in the Army. They met Boz when they had to arrest and transport him for trial for the crime of hitting a superior officer. After their time in the Army, they remained friends and opened the agency together. Boz joined them several years later.
Murray is tall, thin, and rather jerky in motion, and has black hair and large dark eyes with very long lashes. In other words, he strikes people as a geek. Not a traditionally handsome man. Cody Allen is the typical Southern California looking blonde with blue eyes, tall, muscular, handsome. Nick Ryder is tall, muscular, handsome brunet with dark eyes. I did what I normally do…I fell for the little guy.
To set the stage: Nick and Cody are still in the Army Reserves. They have been away for their military duty, and, while there, were kept for several months as they helped uncover and investigate a stolen equipment ring. Murray stayed behind on the Riptide, keeping the agency open, handling small computer oriented cases, at times even helping the police.
Nick and Cody are coming home. But things have happened to Boz while they were gone. Things that he never told them about. And, the story is about what happened to Boz while they were gone, what happened when they got home, and afterwards.
WARNING This story is incomplete. It is being worked on when the muse strikes me, and she's been extremely quiet lately. Too taken up with other projects/authors/stories, etc. It will be updated when there is new material to be posted.
